What’s New
Every update to Forewords, newest first.

Reading Room on smaller phones
On compact screens, Begin reading and Save progress now stay in reach, even with the keyboard open.
A more polished opening
Forewords now has a new gold-book icon and opens with the complete book, a brief wordmark reveal and a soft transition into your reading life. The new entrance respects Reduced Motion and never holds back an app that is ready.
A clearer sixth star
The outline that invites you past five stars now stands out on Light Parchment and reads a touch bolder on Dark Wood. And when you push through to Adored, the starburst now strikes in gold and cools to ice as it flies — clearly visible on both themes.

★When five stars aren’t enough
Some books stay with you long after the last page. Slide past five stars and push through to give them six: a burst of stars, then gleaming diamonds. We call it Adored — an extra-special favourite that helps Forewords understand your taste.

Notifications, your choice
Choose whether Forewords sends you push notifications. If your phone has blocked them, Settings now points you to the right place to fix it.

A warmer welcome
A softly turning 3D book, animated details and warm, textured backgrounds bring a little more character to welcome and sign-in screens.

★Bring your StoryGraph library
Bring your books, reading status, ratings, and read dates across from StoryGraph in a few taps — no CSV needed. Imports are one-way and safe to run again when your library changes.
★Content warnings no longer filter recommendations
User feedback was that content warnings were restricting too many books from their recommendations. So we've removed them as a filter. You will still be able to see content warnings on the book detail screen, so you can explore and make the decision yourself.
Your shelf builds live
Fresh recommendations now appear as soon as each book is ready, with paced live arrivals after onboarding and when asking for more.

Content warnings, sooner
Content-warning checks now group eligible books efficiently and recover cleanly from repeated requests, helping useful results reach your shelves without duplicate work.
Content warning checks are moving again
Books you open, save, or receive as recommendations now move through content-warning checks in demand order, with stricter cost and reliability safeguards.
Move books between shelves from search
Already have a book on a shelf? Its search-result buttons now move it straight to Want to Read, Currently Reading, or Finished.
