How to request deletion
- 1.Optional but recommended: Export your library first from forewords.app/export-my-libraryor via Settings in the app. Once deletion completes, Forewords can’t recover the data — so if you want a record of your library, grab the CSV before deletion runs.
- 2.Open Settings → Edit Profile → Delete Account in the app, or sign in at forewords.app/delete-my-account. Type DELETE to confirm your request. If you cannot sign in, email hello@forewords.app from your account address so we can verify a manual request.
- 3.Your deletion is scheduled for 28 days later. You can cancel from the same screen while the request is pending.
What gets deleted
- •Your account record (email, sign-in credentials, profile)
- •Your full library and all reading history
- •Star ratings and per-trait rating tags
- •Custom shelves and notes
- •Reading stats and your derived taste profile (clusters, centroids)
- •AI recommendation history
- •Your Forewords Plus access. Account deletion does not cancel an App Store, Google Play, or web-billing subscription. Cancel it through the billing provider, or email hello@forewords.app for web-billing help before deletion.
Why 28 days, and not instant
The 28-day waiting period gives you time to export your data or cancel an accidental request. You can continue using your account while the request is pending.
Once processing starts, the deletion cannot be cancelled. We send a confirmation email after it completes.
What if I change my mind?
Use Cancel account deletion on the same screen while the request is pending. Once processing starts, the data cannot be recovered. If you later want to use Forewords again, you’ll need to start a fresh account.
